The challenge
With a global team of designers working on different products simultaneously came inconsistencies between design patterns. While guidance was paramount, it was also important that designers could contribute to the design system as they work and iterate.
The approach
By crafting a complete design system with tools and advice for every stage of the design process, we were able to have one reliable resource for the company’s design principles, visual design language, layout templates, UX writing practices, and component guidance. Designers also had the opportunity to upload ideas to the Gravity site that would be considered for an addition to the design system.
